What do you need to navigate change in your life?
How many people are afraid of change?
I recently re-read via audio “Who Moved My Cheese.” If you haven’t read/can’t remember, it’s a parable of 4 characters and how they each handle change very differently.
Thinking about the book and this upcoming series on transition, yesterday I asked in my story how you all feel about change. love/hate We ended up about 50/50 just like the book.
Personally, I have identified as each of the characters many times. But I am at a place of determination- to not get stuck in entitlement, blaming, and shaming for the change in my life. I am trying to learn to laugh at myself more (which is hard when my kids are throwing wild fits and we are late for you name the event) and keep adapting to the changes. That doesn’t always remove the fear but it is helping me to not stay stuck.
In thinking about our feelings on change I have one encouragement and one question for you:
Encouragement: Try to laugh at yourself for something you would normally heap some blame/shame on for messing up. Let’s take ourselves a little less seriously. We can all give more grace to others when we give ourselves some.
Question: When you think about the change you are going through now (or are anticipating- hello presidential election and Mexican beer virus), where do you need support to help you navigate well?
